Brighton and Hove men deny multimillion pound horseracing fraud
12:51pm Monday 8th October 2012 in News
Three men have denied a multi-million pound fraud – and a fourth remains wanted by police.
John McCracken, 45, of Whitehawk Road, Brighton, Matthew Thole, 39, from Cardiff, and John Brice, 39, of Sandringham Drive, Hove, pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to defraud at Hove Crown Court on Friday.
They have all been bailed until their trial on March 11 next year.
They are accused of working with three other men to convince thousands of victims across the country to invest in horseracing syndicate schemes.
Jeffrey Bloor, 39, was due to be charged by police on June 14, but did not answer bail and has been missing ever since.
He is described as white and 5ft 6in with blue eyes and short, straight ginger hair.
Anyone who knows where he is should call Sussex Police on 101, quoting Operation Zeta, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
