Police hunting for hit and run driver in Brighton

A hit and run driver ploughed into a man and sped off without stopping.

At 10pm on Wednesday a 60-year old man was walking in Spring Gardens, Brighton, which runs between North Road and Church Street, when he was hit by a car which failed to stop.

The man who lives nearby, made his way home with shock and bruising but did not seek medical attention or report the incident to police until Sunday, when he felt unwell, became briefly unconscious, and was taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital.

He was treated but was found to have no serious injuries or underlying health condition, and was discharged yesterday.

PC Christina Lane of the Sussex Road Policing Unit said; "We believe the car may have been an old X-registration BMW series 3, and would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened or who has any other information. You can call us on 101 quoting Serial 0384 of 3/10."

Hardly 'ploughed' into him if he didn't even need medical attention.

Well I hope the owner contacts the police so he can be compensated for the damage caused by the drunk who stumbled into his parked car.
