Seaford shooting man off critical list
10:20am Thursday 11th October 2012 in News
A man shot three times by police after a stand-off at his home is off the critical list.
Paul Allwright, 62, who was shot in the chest and leg in North Way, Seaford, early on September 16, is now said to be in a “serious” condition.
No further details about the Independent Police Complaints Commission’s investigation into the shooting have been released.
Mr Allwright was said to have been carrying a shotgun. The IPCC confirmed a shotgun found at the scene had been fired once.
Mr Allwright was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital for treatment.
After the shooting, Sussex Police said it was treating the incident as an attempted murder of police officers.
