A firefighter has swapped his hosepipe for a laptop to pen his first novel.
Preston Circus firefighter and union rep Steve Lifzka has created a dystopian futuristic world of privatisation and mega corporations gone mad in his novel This Machine Kills.
The first-time author and father-of-one, who got the title for his book from a Woody Guthrie song, completed the book two years ago but has only now been able to get it published.
The book is available in hardback for £8.99 or ebook for £1.53 from amazon.co.uk.
