Police warning following spate of burglaries
Police are urging residents to be extra vigilant following a spate of burglaries.
Officers are currently investigating 15 break-ins during September in Haywards Heath and surrounding villages including Handcross, Stapefield and Warninglid.
Typically the homes were entered through the rear with offenders stealing jewellery and cash.
Most happened between 10am and 1pm during the working week but police are warning that future offences could happen at any time.
Sergeant Rachel Mundy said; "Please call us about any activity you consider to be suspicious, any cold callers you do not feel comfortable with, and any snippets of information you have heard which may be of use.
“If you have seen people acting furtively then call 101, but if you see a crime in action then call 999 immediately.”
