Police warning after two burglaries just hours apart
5:17pm Thursday 18th October 2012 in News By Ben James
Police are appealing for witnesses after two burglaries just hours apart on Monday (October 15).
A house on Hillside Road, Bexhill, was broken into between 7.40am and 11.30am.
The suspects made off with a Wii console, 10 Xbox games and jewellery including a gold coloured bracelet worth approximately £400 and a Russian wedding ring worth £300.
On the same day, between 10.30am and 1pm, a property in Peartree Lane, Bexhill, was also broken into.
A black iPad 2 in a leather case was stolen as well as a silver coloured Compaq Presario laptop worth £500.
Detective Constable Alex Campbell said: "I'd like to urge anyone who believes they have been offered any of the mentioned items to contact Sussex Police on 101.
"Even though the great majority of burglaries occur when homes are empty it can be a harrowing experience for both the victims and neighbours. Just knowing someone has entered your home illegally can feel like a violation.
"Do not make it easy for burglars, please ensure windows and doors are secured, valuable items are left out of sight and when leaving your property do not make it obvious that it is empty."
Witnesses to the burglaries should contact police on 101 quoting either 0563 (Hillside Road) or 0755 (Peartree Lane) of 15/10. Alternatively call Crimestopppers on 0800 555 111.
