New head for Brighton & Hove Strategic Partnership

A business group has elected a new head.

Tony Mernagh, executive director of the Brighton & Hove Economic Partnership - was unanimously elected as chair of the Brighton & Hove Strategic Partnership (BHSP).

He will succeed Roger French, OBE, boss at the Brighton and Hove Bus Company, who retires at the end of this month. The Strategic Partner- ships brings together the public, private, community and voluntary sectors allowing different initiatives and services to support one another so that they can work together more effec- tively.

The overall aim of the BHSP is to provide a single overarching strategic framework – the Community Strategy – within which other more specific partnerships can operate.

Mr Mernagh said: “I am honoured to take over this position from Roger French who has been a consummate chair for seven years and will be greatly missed from this and a range of other partnerships in the city.”
