NATIONAL Fitness Day takes place on Wednesday - and one Brighton company has seized on the opportunity.

iDEA - Interactive Digital Entertainment Activities - is a provider of virtually hosted entertainment, fitness and dance activities.

It has partnered with UKActive to offer its entire range of activities to thousands of schools across the UK free to mark the day.

iDEA content includes diverse physical activities ranging from street dance and street magic to more traditional fitness disciplines.

All activities are focused on getting people active – physically, mentally and socially.

The digital content is specially formulated to maximise fun, interaction and engagement regardless of user age or skill level and need no specialist skills to deliver.

To get free login details, all schools or parents need to do it email iDEA on info@ideagetactive.com

Login details will then be sent and full access to over 13 hours worth of video content and downloadable support will be granted for the day.

Ben O’Hara from iDEA said “Play activities are essential to the healthy development of children.

“The most important role that play can have is to help children to be active, make choices and practice actions to mastery.

“The development of iDEA content is based on the science behind how kids learn; through social interaction, emotional development, physical challenges and educational content”

UKActive CEO Steven Ward said: “National Fitness Day is a fantastic chance to spotlight physical activity and the role it plays in creating a healthier nation.

“Free events across the country provide a chance for everyone to experience the fun of fitness and carry forward healthy habits.

“The day also offers a fantastic opportunity for the physical activity sector to reach new audiences by promoting the broad benefits of movement to the length and breadth of the British nation.”

National Fitness Day will see more than 20,000 free events in gyms, leisure centres, parks, high streets, schools, universities and workplaces as more than one million people get active for the day
