A TOP ventilation manufacturer has won a national award.

Vent-Axia, of Manor Royal, Crawley, scooped the Commercial/Industrial Ventilation Product of the Year category at the HVR Awards 2017.

The product is the Vent-Axia Pure Air, an innovative air filtration system.

The company received the accolade at a glittering awards ceremony at London’s Chelsea Harbour Hotel.

David Cook, product marketing manager, non residential, at Vent-Axia, said: “We are very proud to have been acknowledged for our Vent-Axia Pure Air filtration system.

“With indoor air quality (IAQ) being proven to be crucial to the health of building occupants, the Vent-Axia Pure Air offers peace of mind by helping provide a healthy indoor environment.

“We are thrilled to have gained industry recognition.”

Vent-Axia beat stiff competition to win, with the standard of entries said to be exceptionally high.

After a rigorous judging process, the judges selected the company’s advanced air filtration system which was praised by judges for addressing indoor air quality issues and demonstrating great foresight and commitment to public health.

With air pollution rising up the agenda in the UK, IAQ is becoming an increasing concern in both commercial and residential settings.

A recent report in The Lancet found that in the UK about 50,000 deaths a year are estimated to be linked to pollution.

Most of these deaths are caused by non-infectious diseases linked to pollution.

These include heart disease as well as stroke and lung cancer.
