COUNTY Mall shopping centre in Crawley has raised almost £10,000 for its nominated charity, St Catherine’s Hospice.

The money was raised with events for Christmas shopers.

County Mall hosted a gift wrap service for the charity, where members of the management team joined the hospice team of gift-wrapping volunteers, helping to raise £6,469.29.

On busy days in December several choirs also performed carols and booking fee proceeds from the free Christmas Grotto brought the grand total of funds raised to a £9,712.18.

Centre manager Mark Haynes said: “We’re amazed at the generosity of our shoppers – particularly at such an expensive time of year.

“It’s great to see the festive spirit truly spread to the heart of the town.”

County Mall Shopping Centre will continue to work with St Catherine’s Hospice as its nominated charity for a second year.

The partnership allows the hospice to engage with the many shoppers at County Mall. It will promote opportunities for people to get engaged with their fund-raising events.
