A SAFETY company has created 32 new jobs at its HQ in Shoreham.

Some of the positions at Pyroban have already been filled but there are still 19 roles up for grabs.

Further recruitment is also possible later this year due to the investment in a centre of excellence and the introduction of a new production line in Shoreham.

Pyroban Group CEO Brian Quarendon said: “We are increasing capacity at our Shoreham plant and introducing a new electric vehicle production line.

“We are looking to recruit several new employees as we re-organise the business to respond to global demand more effectively.”

Pyroban is a bespoke engineering business primarily converting lift trucks and engines so they can be used in hazardous areas.

The company is world famous for explosion protection technologies in its markets and has a high export output, with customers all around the world.

Mr Quarendon said: “Pyroban has a history of more than 40 years in West Sussex so I am pleased that we can provide more jobs in the area to build on this heritage,

The company has recently parted from Caterpillar after five years of ownership and is now re-routing all core services, including manufacturing and production, to the UK to create a centre of excellence in Shoreham.

A number of new positions are available including quality technicians, stores assistant, fabricator/welders, electrical fitters, mechanical fitters and buyer/contracts co-ordinator.

The company was founded in 1972 with manufacturing facilities in the UK and regional sales and service centres.

Pyroban offers explosion protection conversions for materials handling equipment, as well as explosion protected diesel engine packages and kits for well service applications.
