Sussex entrepreneur finalists are revealed

The finalists in a competition to find the next generation of Sussex entre- preneurs has been unveiled. The StartBrandAgency is looking for new ideas for products, businesses and services.
It has launched a competition featuring a start-up package worth £10,000 for three entrepreneur wannabes.
The entrants pitched their ideas to the agency at a Dragons’ Den style event at Komedia in Gardner Street. Sarah Lu, a director at the agency based in Brighton, said: “The winners will receive access to the agency’s services from idea development, through to business planning, mentor- ing, and getting the idea or product to market. The aim is to turn them into successful entrepreneurs.”
Lauren Reading and Leander Gloversmith, Bishopstone Lauren and Leander currently make and sell alternative home-ware items through their business Alt.Home Patrick Potter, Hove Patrick uses an array of techniques including hypnotherapy to build a comprehensive toolkit of practices to supercharge creative potential.
Lauren Sadler, Brighton Lauren’s dream is to make cultural events more accessible to those living outside of main cities in the south.
Sarah Dare, PortsladeSarah makes creative bespoke window displays.
Kate Morris, HoveKate runs Bedroom Factory Knits, ‘A Knitwear Company with a difference’.
Julius Arthur, Brighton Julius designs and produces his own bespoke clothing range for men using loud and extravagantly patterned tex- tile prints.
Julia Scott, Brighton Julia developed a gluten intolerance so decided to start making her own flour, which developed into making delicious wheat-free baked goods.
Jonathan Chapman, Ferring Jonathan designs and builds modern designer-spec speakers and offers them at a more competitive price.
Joel Evans, Hove Joel runs The Outdoors Project which hosts after school clubs, boot camps, Nerf wars and children’s par- ties.
Fraser Geesin and Andy Gibson, Brighton Fraser and Andy run a novelty gift company called Sklent Industries.
