A FOOTBALL fan has been fined after he breached the terms of an order banning him from Brighton city centre.

Michael Shaw, of Truleigh Drive in Portslade, was caught by police officers in Baker Street, Brighton, a few hours before kick-off of Brighton and Hove Albion's match with Crystal Palace in November.

The 45-year-old is subject to a football banning order which means he is not allowed to attend matches or allowed within a set area in the city four hours before and after games are taking place at the Amex Stadium.

He was fined at Brighton Magistrates’ Court yesterday for failing to comply with a football banning order made in April.

Magistrates decided not to extend the banning order.

Shaw pleaded guilty to the breach and was ordered to pay a fine of £307, as well as a £30 victim surcharge and court costs of £85.
