DRIVERS across the county have awoken to find many routes blocked by fallen trees this morning.

Expect delays/diversions while travelling through the following:

  • A29 Stane Street, Adversane: A fallen tree is causing slow traffic on the A29 Stane Street near Billingshurst. It is said to be fully blocking the north lane just after The Blacksmiths Arms pub. Police are reported to be on the scene directing traffic.
  • A22 Lewes Road, Forest Row: Partially blocked by a fallen tree. Heavy traffic is said to be building due to the blockage near the junction with Wall Hill Road.
  • A22 Nutley: Chelwood Gate Road both ways blocked due to fallen tree near A22. Traffic is coping well.
  • Eastergate Lane, Walberton: A fallen tree is partly blocking the road near the junction with Barnham Lane.
  • B2036 Balcombe Road, Crawley: Balcombe Road near Copthorne and Crawley is reportedly closed due to a fallen tree between Worth Park Avenue and Haywards.
  • A229 The Moor: A229 both ways blocked, slow traffic due to fallen tree between Delmonden Road (Horns Corner) and A21 (Coopers Corner). Police directing traffic.
  • A286 Midhurst Road: Partially blocked both ways
  • A264 Ashurst Road / Hammerwood: Queueing traffic and road blocked due to fallen tree. Police directing traffic.
  • Jevington Road, Jevington: Heavy traffic and partially blocked due to fallen tree on Jevington Road both ways near Old Mill Lane.
