A VETERAN is training to compete in a charity 100km walk from London to Brighton.

Dan Baldwin, 41, from Worthing, will be supporting Blind Veterans UK, the national charity for blind and vision-impaired ex-service men and women.

He will be taking part in the challenge with his four friends.

Dan left the Army in 2004 after ten years’ service and currently works in quality assurance.

He said: “It was the right time for me to leave.

“I reached a set of crossroads where it was either leave, or spend the rest of my life in the Forces.

“I was ready to start a new career and start a new family, so it was definitely the right decision.”

The event is on July 7 and 8.
