DRUSILLAS Park at Alfriston will be celebrating World Penguin Day on Saturday.
The aim is to bring international focus on the conservation of penguin habitats and to raise awareness for the ever-declining numbers of penguins in the wild.
There are 17 species of penguin ranging from the tiny Little Blue to the Emperor Penguin.
Several are now threatened.
Drusillas offers a happy home to Humboldt and Rockhopper penguins. Despite some 6,000 miles separating the two species, both are facing struggles in the wild. Rockhoppers are listed as endangered with Humboldts not far behind.
