A COMPANY which provides car insurance cover has been crowned the winner of the Sussex Super Growth Awards 2018.

First Central Insurance Management Limited is based in Haywards Heath and employs a total of 800 staff, 600 of them in Sussex.

Its growth over the last four years has been an amazing 391.3 per cent.

The awards were held yesterday morning at The Amex, hosted by Brighton celebrity Simon Fanshawe.

First Central UK CEO Andy James said; “We are in our tenth year of trading, and I have been with the company for five years.

“We make it feel like a family at our workplace.

“We underwent a brand and we knew that the priorities were to make it simple for everyone.

“That’s simple for customers to buy the insurance, claim when necessary, and also simple for our staff.

“We continue to show improvements through the money comparison websites.

“The quality of our product is key.”

Runner-up was PSI Pay Ltd, based in Horsham, which showed growth of 181.3 per cent.

Third was World of Books, based in Goring by Sea, with 170.6 per cent growth.

The awards are sponsored by asb law, Lloyds Bank and Kreston Reeves in partnership with The Argus.

Criteria for the Sussex Super Growth Awards is:

• Privately-owned business, trading with headquarters in Sussex.

• Profitable growth in turnover measured over a four-year accounting period based on latest full accounts information filed at Companies House.

• Minimum turnover of £2m in base year.

Nicola Haigh, from Lloyds Bank, spoke about achieving growth and said “sitting and waiting” was not the answer.

She said: “There are no rights or wrongs to achieve growth.”
