THE new High Sheriff of West Sussex, Caroline Nicholls DL, visited Worthing Fire Station to support its annual charity car wash.
The fire crews raised £1,160 for The Fire Fighters Charity and Mrs Nicholls gave her congratulations to the team.
The car wash is part of a national event for the charity, which is the only official organisation that supports injured firefighters and their families in their time of need.
Further car washes are taking place at Arundel Fire Station on Saturday from 10am-2pm and then Morrisons in Littlehampton on Saturday May 26, also from 10am-2pm.
Richard Tout, watch manager at Arundel Fire Station, said: “We would love for the local community to get behind our car wash in the same way that they have in previous years.”
