The hunt for a three gunmen wanted over the shooting of a man in Brighton has been taken over by major crime detectives.
Sussex Police now believe the shooting of a 39-yea-old man in Elmore Road, Brighton, last night was a "targetted attack".
Three men went to the victim's door then shot him.
The incident happened at 11.25pm. Armed police were deployed to the area following the incident.
The senior investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Paul Rymarz, said: "We are now confident this was a targeted attack and several lines of enquiry are being actively pursued by officers involved in the investigation.
"We are keen to speak to anyone who may be able help us with information about this incident."
Anyone who saw what happened or noticed anything suspicious is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting Operation Kenton.
