A DRIVER caught speeding at 128 mph in a 30mph-limit in West Sussex was one of the worst examples in the UK.
Information compiled by the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) from Freedom of Information requests showed the incident took place in London Road in East Grinstead.
The highest speed reached last year in the country was 146mph on the M25.
The IAM believes an improvement in driving skills and attitude is the key to reducing the numbers of people killed and injured on UK roads, and believes advanced driving tuition is needed.
IAM chief executive officer Sarah Sillars said: "All these individuals are playing with their own lives and others.”
