Three more men have been arrested by detectives investigating a shooting in Brighton last month.

A 39-year-old man living in a flat in Elmore Road, Brighton, suffered shotgun wounds at 11.25pm on Tuesday January 27.

Detectives arrested three men, aged 24, 45 and 33, in Brighton, on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, attempted murder, causing grievous bodily harm, criminal damage and theft on Friday

They have now been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Three private addresses in the city were searched.

Three men went to the flat in Elmore Court, Elmore Road, Brighton on January 27 and fired a shot through the letter box, removing the  victim's baby finger and leaving him with pellets in his abdomen. 

A 31-year-old man from Hove was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 24-year-old man from Brighton who was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder have now been released on police bail until April 8.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Rymarz, of the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, who is leading the investigation, said: "This is still a very active investigation and we are determined to establish exactly what has happened and why.

"We are still keen to hear from anyone who may have information about this incident or any suspicious vehicles, people or activity in the Elmore Road area late on Tuesday 27 January.

"We are offering a reward of £5,000 for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the those responsible. Crimestoppers have also offered £5,000 on the same conditions."
