A 21-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of rape.
The man, from Horsham, is on police bail until March 5 while enquiries continue into the alleged rape of the 21- year-old woman, also from Horsham, known to him, in Southwater last month.
Police hope a car driver might have information that could help their investigation into the alleged offence between 10.30pm and 11pm on Tuesday January 13 in a lay-by in Mill Straight.
A silver 4x4, possibly a Jeep, and of an older style, between seven to ten years old, was seen parked in the road, just outside Southwater Country Park, late that evening.
Detective Constable Karrie Bohanna said there was no suggestion the 4x4 owner had anything to do with the offence, but they could have seen something which could help without realising it at the time.
