A man suffered a broken ankle and finger and was left with cuts and bruises to his head following an assault.

The 45-year-old victim was walking in St James’s Street in Brighton and was close to the junction with Chapel Street when he was attacked.

A 45-year-old man from Brighton was walking on the Brighton street around 12.20am on Sunday, April 26 and was near to Chapel Street when he was punched.

The suspect is described as white, aged between 35 and 45 and about 6ft with a stocky build and short shaven hair.

He was wearing a light blue long sleeved top, dark blue trousers and black shoes.

He also had a black blazer type jacket which he was carrying over one arm.

Anyone with information about the incident, which happened at about 12.20am on Sunday April 26, is asked to call Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 31 of April 26.
