A RUGBY international will appear in court after an assault left two men with multiple fractures and broken teeth.

England’s Jordan Turner-Hall has been charged after the incident at Pryzm nightclub in West Street, Brighton, at about 3am on October 30 last year.

He played his junior rugby at Hove Rugby Football Club based in Shirley Drive, before signing a professional contract for Harlequins in 2006.

The talented Harlequins centre will appear in court alongside another defendant – James Fairhall – after two men were left with serious facial injuries.

The 21-year-old man suffered a fractured cheekbone and multiple fractures of his nose, while the 22-year-old suffered broken teeth and a cut lip.

It is the latest in a string of off-field issues hampering England’s World Cup preparations which has seen Manu Tuilagi dropped for assaulting police officers and Danny Cipriani arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.

Turner-Hall’s 2014-15 season was blighted by injury and made one of only four full appearances for the London-based club – one of which coming three days after the incident when he was involved in a 25-20 defeat at the hands of English champions Saracens in the Anglo-Welsh Cup.

The former Patcham High School and Brighton College student joined the Harlequins academy after school and made rapid progress at both club and international level.

He played twice for England under-18 in 2005 and retained his place for the 2005-06 season.

In the same year he made his senior debut for Quins and a season later had his first start in the Premiership at the age of just 17.

Turner-Hall was a regular member of the Quins first team during the 2007-08 season and he earned a call up to the England under-20 team for the Junior World Championships.

The following season he continued to impress at inside centre for Quins and won the Premierships' Discovery of the Season award.

He made his first full international appearance against the Barbarians in 2009 before coming off the bench against Scotland at Murrayfield and Italy in Rome during the 2012 Six Nations tournament.

This month, during his off-season, he travelled to India on a Quins charity mission visiting a school and running coaching sessions, team building exercises and assemblies for street children in Kolkata.

The touring party also visited the local hospitals, train station and slums, where the street children involved with charity Future Hope begin their lives.

James Fairhall, 26, of Grove Hill, Brighton, has been charged with causing actual bodily harm, inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, perverting the course of justice and failing to surrender to bail.

Jordan Turner-Hall, 27, of Creek Road, East Molesey, Surrey, has been charged with causing actual bodily harm and inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.

Both have been released on bail to appear at Brighton Magistrates' Court on July 23.

It’s not been a great couple of months for England’s backs ahead of their home Rugby World Cup, which will see two games staged in Brighton.

In May, England star Manu Tuilagi was dropped by head coach Stuart Lancaster after he admitted assaulting police officers.

The Leicester Tigers centre, 23, was fined £6,205 when he appeared before magistrates.

Meanwhile flamboyant fly-half Danny Cipriani is waiting on a police investigation to discover his fate after he was arrested for alleged drink-driving just hours after putting in a dazzling performance for England against the Barbarians at Twickenham on May 31.
