A SERIAL drink-driver has been banned for the fourth time after police found him driving drunk into a pub car park.

Adrian Ing was part-way through a three-year driving ban when police spotted him turning into the car park of The Green Man, Ringmer, on June 29.

Sussex Police have now taken the rare step of publishing Ing's photo so that people can phone police if they see him behind the wheel.

The 48-year-old has served two drink-driving bans and was partway through a three-year ban imposed in January 2013 when he was seen driving a Ford Fiesta to the pub at about 12.30pm.

Sussex Police said he had 109 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of his breath - more than three times the drink-drive legal limit.

Ing, of High Street, Maynard's Green, pleaded guilty to drink-driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance at Hastings Magistrates' Court.

He was given a 24-month suspended sentence and banned from driving for four years.

He was also made the subject of a 12-month rehabilitation order, fined £550 and ordered to pay £235 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Chief Inspector Phil Nicholas, of Sussex and Surrey roads policing unit, said: "Ing appears not to think that he has to abide with the drink-driving laws.

"He has now been caught four times driving while over the limit which suggests to me that he has done it many more times than that but has managed to avoid detection."

He continued: "Selfish drivers like him put every other person on the roads in danger and we need the help of the public to catch and convict offenders like Ing to make Sussex safer.

"We are publishing his image today because we need people to tell us if they see him behind the wheel so we can arrest him.

"If you see someone driving who you think is drink driving or banned, please tell us immediately."

A total of 82 people have so far been convicted of offences as part of Sussex Police's summer Operation Dragonfly drink and drug-driving campaign.
