A man has been arrested after man was found with stab wounds.

The victim was seen walking along Circus Street, Brighton, with what police believe were stab wounds to his back just after midday on Wednesday August 5.

The victim, a 23-year-old man from the city, was found by officers a short time later in North Street and was treated by paramedics for superficial wounds to his torso.

He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital and has since been discharged.

A 24-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of GBH and has been released on police bail until September 4.

Detective Inspector Andrew Wolstenholme said: "We would like to speak with anyone who may have seen something suspicious that Wednesday, particularly if they were in Circus Street between 10am and 11am."
