A NURSE has appeared in court accused of stealing a dying patient's £5,000 Rolex watch.
Joseph Miller, a nursing manager a Chichester's St Richard's Hospital, is accused of stealing the family heirloom from David Davies while he was being treated for a heart condition.
Medics were trying to resuscitate grandfather Mr Davies, 68, of Birdham, at the time his watch went missing in August 2014 - but his life could not be saved.
Miller, 40, of Barnham Lane, Walberton, near Littlehampton appeared at Worthing Magistrates' Court on Tuesday charged with theft.
The court ruled the crime was too serious for their sentencing powers and directed the case should be transferred to Portsmouth Crown Court on July 11.
