AN INDIAN restaurant could be facing a fine of up to £120,000 after an immigration raid found six members of staff potentially working illegally.
Immigration enforcement officers visited Cottage Tandoori in West Street, Storrington on Thursday following a tip-off.
Five men were arrested and are set to be deported after the investigation found two Bangladeshi men, aged 35 and 49, to have entered the UK illegally while a further three Bangladeshi nationals, two 34-year-olds and one aged 36, had overstayed their visas.
A sixth man, a 28 year-old from Myanmar who has no right to work in the UK, was escorted from the business and will have to report regularly to the Home Office while his case is progressed.
