A 12-year-old boy reported missing to police has turned up safe and well.

Terry Bailey, known as Cash, had last been seen walking away from his address in Sorrel Drive, Eastbourne, at around 8.30pm on Sunday (July 31).

Police said he later texted to say he was fine and intended to camp out in a friend's garden, but has not been seen or heard from since.

But concern was then raised for his welfare and a missing persons appeal was made.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said he could be with family members and has links to the Eastbourne, Camber and Portsmouth areas.

At 6pm, a Sussex Police spokeswoman said Cash had been found.

She said in a statement: "Missing 12-year-old Eastbourne boy Terry Bailey has been found safe and well on Monday (1 August).

"Terry, known as Cash, was last seen walking from his address in Sorrel Drive, on Sunday evening (31 July)."

No more details have been released.
