A woman told a court she feared for her life as she was allegedly raped by the stepfather of model Katie Price following a group night out.

Questioned over the incident, she denied kissing Paul Price back, or touching him intimately, after they had got out of a taxi together when she complained of feeling ill.

Giving evidence from behind a screen, the woman also rejected suggestions from Price's barrister that she was a "willing and enthusiastic participant" in having sex with him.

At Chichester Crown Court she told jurors: "The ferocity with which he grabbed me was shocking." She added: "I thought he was going to kill me. He had his hands round my throat."

She denied telling him she had not had sex for a year, but did recall a previous conversation involving Price's wife Amy, in which she said she and her husband's sex life was "like George and Mildred".

The court heard that the complainant, 53-year-old fence erector Price, and his wife, had been on a group night out in Worthing, on March 21 last year.

It is alleged the woman was raped twice by Price after the pair got out of the taxi, which continued on its journey to the defendant's home with his wife and the complainant's husband still inside.

Earlier in the evening, after drinks at a pub, the group went to the Imperial Chinese restaurant where defence counsel Abigail Penny alleged the complainant had "disgraced" herself.

Jurors were told that the woman stabbed one of them with a fork after receiving a "less than complimentary" remark. The woman said the claim was a "total and utter lie".

And she denied trying to strangle one of the group in a "jokey way". Ms Penny suggested to her that the evening was a "disaster", with none of the group staying to eat a main course at the restaurant.

Ms Penny also questioned her over claims that she had told the group she had a microchip in her back, which could alert members linked to the notorious Richardson crime gang in London.

The woman denied the claim, but did say she had mentioned having GPS on her to Price, while feeling threatened by him while they were alone in a dark place, in an effort to "scare him off".

She went on: "We all say things stupidly in hindsight."

Speaking about events leading up to the alleged attack, Ms Penny told her: "I'm going to suggest that even you would have realised that the evening had been a complete disaster."

The woman replied: "The evening that I was looking forward to was spending the night with two friends. I thought we were going to watch a video."

The woman was questioned by Ms Penny about her alcohol consumption that night, and rejected suggestions she had drunk more than she had previously stated in a video police interview, or that she had drunk vodka neat.

Two days after the alleged rape, the woman called Price, the court also heard. She said: "I basically rang him back and said that he was disgusting and to never contact me again."

Price, of North Drive, Angmering, has denied two charges of rape.

The case continues.
