A TEENAGER has been knocked down in a hit and run.
The 15-year-old boy was hit by a car in Chestnut Way, Newhaven, at 8.20pm on Monday as he crossed the road with two other boys in dark clothing.
The driver stopped briefly, saw the boy lying on the ground and immediately drove off, heading in the direction of Valley Road.
The victim was taken by ambulance to Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, for checks but fortunately sustained only minor injuries.
Police believe the car was possibly a silver Peugeot.
Roads policing officer PC Gary Douglas said: "We wish to trace the driver of the car involved and to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened or who has other relevant information."
