ROBBERS threatened supermarket staff with a knife before raiding the tills of around £1,500.
Two men, one wearing a motorcycle helmet and the other a balaclava, went into Tesco in The Droveway, Hove, at 8.20pm on Christmas Eve.
Two staff, a 36-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, were threatened before the robbers made off on a stolen green/blue motorbike in the direction of Dyke Road.
It had been taken earlier in the day from Southampton Street, Brighton.
Initial reports suggested around £900 had been taken but police later confirmed it was approximately £1,500 in cash.
A Tesco spokesman said: "We are doing all we can to support our colleagues and are helping the police with their investigation."
Anyone who saw the incident or has information which could help police with their investigations should call 101 or email sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting 1136 of 24/12.
