A WOMAN captured on CCTV may have got off a bus with another woman's handbag.
Sussex Police have issued this image of a woman they would like to speak with in connection with the theft of the bag on Christmas Eve.
The suspect was travelling on a number 22 Brighton and Hove bus with the victim between London Road and Lawns Cemetery, Woodingdean.
When the victim - a 56-year-old woman - got off the bus around 2.30pm, she left her handbag on a seat.
However the bag was not handed in.
Investigator Tamara Bennett, of Sussex Police, said: "We have released this CCTV from the bus of a woman we would like to speak to who appears to have left with the bag."
Anyone who recognises the woman pictured is asked to contact Sussex Police via the online form at sussex.police.uk/contact-us/response-to-appeal/ or email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting serial 849 of December 24.
