A PRIEST who has been found guilty of fraud after using the disabiled parking badge of a dead woman could face further charges.

Father William Haymaker, 62, of Suffolk Road, Bexhill, appeared in the dock at Hove Trial Centre for sentencing but was told the matter has been adjourned to May 26.

A jury found him guilty of possessing an article for use in a fraud at Chichester Crown Court on March 2.

Gareth Jones, representing East Sussex County Council who brought the case, told Thursday's hearing that further potential charges had not yet been ruled out.

He said: "Our proposal is to investigate this."

Haymaker, who says he provides pastoral care for the terminally ill, was caught using the blue badge to park in a disabled bay in Western Road, Bexhill, in December 2015, according to a council spokesman.

The holder of the badge had died in October 2015.

He was unconditionally bailed to appear at the next hearing.
