TWO men have been jailed for supplying heroin and crack cocaine in Brighton.

Michael Murphy and Peter Dillion were arrested during a six-month operation carried out by officers from Brighton and Hove Police’s community investigation team into the supply of drugs into the city.

More than 70 arrests have been made so far.

Murphy, 21, and Dillion, 30, managed a drugs network between Liverpool and Brighton and they were observed carrying out 13 trips between the two cities.

They were dealing to drug users in October 2016 and then using others to deal on their behalf throughout November and December.

They were arrested in March this year.

A bag of heroin and crack cocaine seized was worth £2,000 and £12,000 cash was seized.

The pair – both from Liverpool – each pleaded guilty to two charges of conspiracy to supply heroin and crack cocaine on April 28.

They were each sentenced to six years.

Detective Constable Mark Pinder said: “This was a further example of the good work that continues within Brighton and Hove to demonstrate that drug dealing will not be tolerated and that those at the high levels of such operations will be caught and will rightly receive high custodial sentences.”
