A WOMAN has been banned from the roads after driving home drunk, following an argument with her partner.
Sarah Jane Bailey, 48, of Heighton Road, South Heighton, Newhaven, drove home drunk on the A27 at Firle, after the fracas with her partner.
When police stopped Bailey in her Vauxhall Astra on July 30, she was found to be over the limit.
The planner for a housing repair firm was found to be over the limit with 95 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The legal limit is 35 microgrammes of alcohol per in 100 millilitres of breath.
She plead guilty to driving a motor vehicle drunk at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
In mitigation her solicitor Stephanie Dale said Bailey had an argument with her partner before deciding to drive drunk.
She said: "Bailey didn't intend to drive, but had an argument and took a stupid decision."
Chair of the bench Andrew Tiffen disqualified Bailey from driving for 23 months.
She was given a 12 month community order and 80 hours unpaid work in the community.
She was also made to pay £175 pounds in courts costs.
