TWO robbers have got away with £10,000 after a raid on Brighton post office.

The pair struck shortly after 3pm on Monday at the WH Smith Post Office in St Georges Road, Brighton.

They threatened staff with a knife before getting away with around £10,000 in cash down Birlington Street.

Sussex Police said no one was hurt.

Detective Sergeant Helen Paine, of Sussex Police, said: "This was a frightening ordeal for the staff and we are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the robbery or who recognises the suspects."

The first suspect is a white man, stocky, aged in his late 40s, with a bald head and very closely shaven hair at the sides. He was wearing a grey tracksuit and black shoes.

The other man is white, 5' 8", slim and aged about 25. He was wearing a distinctive dark red tracksuit with a white stripe down the outside of the sleeve and leg.
