A MAN who threatened to burn his ex-girlfriend’s house down has been jailed for breaching a court order.
Michael Anthony Healy breached a domestic violence prevention order when he made the threat to his former partner.
The 52-year-old from Hastings now faces 28 days behind bars.
Healy, who denied the offence, appeared via video link at Hastings Magistrates’ Court before District Judge Teresa Szochan on Monday.
Healy was found to have caused harassment and distress to his former girlfriend when he made the threat to burn down her house.
Healy, of Elphinstone Road, Hastings, has a history of breaching orders against him.
He also has convictions for harassment and violence.
Judge Szochan said she was taking into consideration 52-year-old Healy’s previous breaching of orders and convictions.
She told Healy there was no alternative but to impose a custodial sentence on him for breaching the domestic violence prevention order.
