A MOTHER-OF-TWO kicked a policeman in a drunken rage during Brighton Pride.

Sasha Edden, 24, became aggressive to police when her partner was arrested.

She then launched herself at a policeman and kicked him.

Edden, of Ashton Rise, Brighton, pleaded guilty at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Monday to assault on a constable and being drunk and disorderly.

The court heard that on August 5 she was repeatedly told to leave when her boyfriend was arrested at the event.

But she became abusive to police and took objection to being filmed by PC Nicholas Phipps who was holding a camera. She knocked it out his hands before kicking him, causing a graze and bruise to his right arm.

Rachel Lancaster, defending, said Edden accepted she had had a lot to drink and could not remember much about the events.

Sentencing, magistrate Nigel Peacock, gave her a conditional discharge for 12 months, and ordered her to pay a £20 victim surcharge plus £100 prosecution costs.

He said: “Drunk and disorderly is not a pretty sight. It does not set a good image to your child.

“Grow up and stop doing stuff like this.”
