TWO boys were arrested after a off-road moped was driven along a busy Brighton road without lights.
The two people on board the moped were not wearing helmets as it was ridden in Warren Road, Brighton, on Friday night.
Sussex Police officers attempted to bring the vehicle to a halt but it failed to stop and was ridden on to grass where it was dumped and two people ran away.
Two boys were arrested. A 17-year-old from Brighton was arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent, driving dangerously, driving without a licence, failing to stop, driving without insurance and riding without protective head gear. He has been charged with possession of cannabis and will appear at Worthing Youth Court on January 11.
A 15-year-old boy, also from Brighton, was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, failing to stop, dangerous driving and driving without a licence. He was later released without charge.
Detective sergeant Chris Thompson, of Sussex Police, urged any motorists with dash cam footage of the incident at 6.20pm to contact offficers.
