MORE than 80% of grades at Burgess Hill Girls school A*-B as the highest results improved by 12%.

A school spokesman said: "This year, the 12% increase in A*-A grades confirms Burgess Hill Girls is maximizing the outcomes of its most aspirational students whilst maintaining consistency at the top end.

"The vast majority of our students will be heading off to their chosen universities to pursue a wide variety of first choice courses.

"Others are setting off on gap year adventures confident that their excellent results have secured them university places deferred until September 2017."

Head of Sixth Form Nick Dyson said: "We are absolutely delighted by the performances of our A level students.

"Their passion for learning and dedication to subjects has clearly paid off.

"It is so pleasing to see such a tight-knit year group fare so well; this is the culmination of two years of hard work and I wish our girls all the very best at their universities of choice.

Headteacher Kathryn Bell: added: "Our girls have met the challenges put before them to achieve higher standards than they may have ever dreamt possible, and to do their very best.

"They have produced an outstanding set of results alongside their commitments to the school community.

"They have made the most of all the opportunities on offer. They have broadened their mindset and grown into unique and powerful individuals.

"Burgess Hill girls do not simply blend in with the crowd. My heartfelt congratulations to all the girls; we will miss their enthusiasm and energy and wish them all a bright future – they certainly deserve it."
