Name: Douglas Denny

Candidate for: Bognor Regis & Littlehampton

Party: UK Independence Party

Votes: 3,036

Profile:

Why I want to be an MP: Arun district is being swamped by government-imposed overdevelopment of housing on greenfield sites without the people already living here being consulted.
If elected, I would press for more jobs, services and infrastructure, including doctors, dentists, schools and better roads to serve the communities of Bognor Regis and Littlehampton.
The proposed Ford eco town was defeated mainly because of the power of the people in protesting at this threat and it is this grass-roots democracy which UKIP supports at every level.
The twin pleasures of living close to the countryside and the sea are important to all of us who live in West Sussex and I am keen to preserve this environment.
Commercial fishing, once an important part of life on the coast, and agriculture, particularly livestock farming, have been decimated by unelected EU bureaucrats and the regulations of the Common Agricultural Policy, which UKIP would remove.
UKIP believes strongly in the principles of the NHS but it is over-managed, wasteful and too bureaucratic.
As part of its policy of returning power to the people, my party would introduce directly elected county boards to manage the health service, police and schools.
By voting for the three main parties you are asking for more uncontrolled immigration, destroyed economy, poorly funded hospitals, schools, police and roads and, of course, more sleaze and corrupt MPs.
Break the political mould by voting for straight-talking, radical and honest UKIP which offers people Swiss-style referenda, will stop paying £45 million a day to Brussels and remove the red tape strangling our businesses.
