Why I want to be an MP: People deserve a new politics built upon trust.
As a young, experienced candidate, aged 24, I strongly believe we need MPs who have a sense of reality and understanding of the challenges and issues that face ordinary people; that’s why we need a
fresh blood of MPs who do not forget it is voters who elected them to represent their community.
What drives me in politics is helping local people to resolve their problems, and that has to be the underlying principle for anyone standing to be MP for Worthing West.
I was a school governor for five years and a voluntary youth club leader for six years.
I then graduated in Economics at Swansea University and my employment has taken me through voluntary organisations such as the National Childminding Association and Scope.
I am now a policy and development manager with a national youth charity working with young people facing barriers to education, employment and training.
If elected I would use my experience to draw in funding to introduce street-based youth workers and support the council to improve parking in the town by introducing park- and-ride.
I would keep in contact with residents by holding regular surgeries around the constituency and give residents a say on how I should vote in the big debates at Westminster.
