Mission statement:

Britain is facing a clear choice on May 6 - five more years of Gordon Brown or a Conservative Government with fresh ideas, energy and determination to tackle the debt crisis, stop higher taxes on local jobs and deal with the culture of waste and bureaucracy that Labour has forced on our hard working public service workers.

The people of Salisbury deserve better and I believe I am well-placed to influence decisions at Westminster to make sure the benefits of a Conservative Government are delivered to Salisbury and south Wiltshire.

The horrendous situation a future government will inherit makes it critical that Salisbury vote decisively for change and elect a candidate who has a proven track record - someone who is tested and will deliver.

As a married family man who has worked in business for over ten years and is a serving magistrate, I believe I have the life experience to be a credible advocate for Salisbury in Parliament.

I grew up in a small business in Wiltshire where my family still live; my mother was born in Salisbury, my grandfather and great-grandfather lived and worked in Salisbury during the Blitz; I have Salisbury in my blood!

Having studied at Oxford and Cambridge universities and worked elsewhere I have now come home to live in Salisbury. My time as a senior adviser to William Hague and briefly for David Cameron means that I know the people who will matter in a Conservative Government.

I have worked closely with Robert Key, our excellent retiring MP, in recent weeks to ensure that if I was elected on May 6 there would be continuity in our campaign to defend the jobs threatened by Labour at Porton's Health Protection Agency. I am ready to ensure that Salisbury sees a positive outcome from an incoming government's Defence Review.

I will fight to secure a fairer share of resources for our underfunded local schools and I will fight to maintain investment in our excellent Odstock hospital.

If elected my priority would be to be an accessible and energetic local constituency MP, standing up for the vulnerable, our senior citizens and struggling families in our community.

I will use my experience to be a powerful advocate for the people of Salisbury, Amesbury, Downton and Wilton in Westminster - fighting and delivering on their behalves in individual case work and national policy debates that impact our part of Wiltshire.
