Born May 21, 1958. Educated at City School, Sheffield, before studying a degree in social theory at University College of North Wales.
Currently working as a social worker in Edinburgh, Mrs Bell has stood for election twice before. She contested the Midlothian seat in 2001 and stood for Richmond in 2005. She is married with one son.
Her interests include travel, tapestry, horses, reading and a house in Latvia.
