Neighbours say they have spotted another big cat in a garden.

The large black animal was seen by Sharon Virgo, 46, of Whitehawk Close, Whitehawk, Brighton, in her garden at about 1.30am on Friday.

She said: "It just really scared me because it was sat at the top of my garden just staring at us.

"My little Jack Russell was barking like mad at it through my patio windows.

"It had bright green eyes and was black with really long whiskers.

"It was far too big to be a fox or a dog."

Dawn Greenaway, 43, a neighbour who was visiting, said: "I felt a bit shook up afterwards, I have never seen anything that big. My eyes virtually popped out of my head.

"The garden lights were on so we could see it clearly.

"In the morning I went into the garden and there is claw marks and scratches on a piece of wood next to the fence."

The sighting follows many reports of sightings of the so-called Beast of Bevendean just a few miles away.

If this is the beast that took my beloved pug then I am upset to hear that other people's dogs are at risk from this animal. Please do something now before any more dogs get hurt.

I find it hilarious that no one bothered to take photographic evidence of the marks on the fence. I've been living in Bevendean since my house fire in late november, i have yet to see anything strange about the fields behind me. Infact i cannot see where it could live without being noticed either.

I get sick and tired of seeing these people add their silly, narrow minded and pretentious little comments to any story that is slightly offbeat.
Most people that comment on stories like this will quickly pipe in. Everyone is so eager to get their, frankly, rubbish quality jokes into the mix. Any chance of intelligent discussion is quickly quashed by some pointless comment that spawns so many other pathetic comments.
My only commendation goes to BOB who rightly corrected the person silly enough to (in)'correct' a mistake in the original article with equally tragic grammar. Not because he felt the need to correct him almost as much as I did, but simply because reading Captain Pedantry's comment made me want to cry out in frustration and I am glad someone put him right. Oh Captain, I hope you weren't really proud of yourself for your comment and for naming yourself that. Either way, after seeing BOB’s comment, I don’t imagine you are particularly proud now.
It is only logical that big cats roam our countryside. In 1976 when the 'Dangerous Wild Animal act' was brought in, many people resolved that rather than struggle to adhere to the conditions of the act, they would , albeit illegally, release their dangerous big cats into the wild.
Not only do the majority of people who post comments, fail to research the subject they are commenting on, they also cease to be amusing when they drop their snide little jokes and jabs in. Oh man I hope I wasn't being pretentious there!!
I hope I haven't made any typographical errors in my comment. That would give people that perfect opportunity for a retort without having to do the hard work of finding an intelligent argument to the points I have made here.
People! I implore you! Start thinking for yourselves....Don’t be narrow minded, don't be a sheep.....The big cats might get you!!
