Firefighters were called to rescue five cows trapped in a mud pond.

The animals had escaped their farm and fell into the pit at the side of Plumpton Lane, Plumpton, near Lewes, at 1.04pm on Saturday.

Two pumps from Barcombe and Lewes and the animal rescue unit from Crowborough attended.

Two cows managed to wade free and the other three were rescued by firefighters.

"What are fire cows?"
Where do you think they get flame-grilled burgers from? This is hardly an exciting moos story, is it?

Breaking News:

My 9-month-old Bengal Kitten, abducted and killed a field mouse this morning and left it on the patio, just infront of the french doors. Despite heroic attempts from paramedics. who "worked" on the mouse for 30 minutes, she was pronounced dead at the scene. RIP Micky.

More interesting than to cows getting stuck in mud ... even if they were a new hybrid fire cows.

Not at all exciting.
What do you call a cow with no legs?
Ground beef.

This is all very good, and I am happy for the cows. When is someone coming to rescue my horses. One of them is sunk deeply into the mud and the other ones have been chained to the ground with a leg-iron.
