A MAN who saved his fiancee’s life when her heart stopped in the middle of the night was guest of honour at a special carol service.
Richard Tucker, 47, from Crowborough, gave Bridget Massey, 49, CPR until ambulance crews arrived.
The service took place at St Mary’s Church, Horsham, and was attended by about 400 people.
Mr Tucker, who did a reading at the event, was crowned St John Ambulance’s Everyday Hero of the Year in September.
The event was organised to raise money for the St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group, a charity providing expert eye care in the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem.
Among the guests were local dignitaries, representatives from the emergency services in Sussex, adult St John Ambulance volunteers and members of the youth cadets and badgers groups.
