AN elf-themed festive event has raised thousands of pounds for a children’s charity.
The annual Dress Yourself as an Elf day in aid of Brighton-based Rockinghorse took place earlier this month.
Those taking part dressed up in red and green and made a donation to the charity’s Christmas appeal.
More than £8,000 has been raised so far with money still being donated from fundraising activities being held on the day.
Schools, nurseries, community groups and businesses from across the county took part.
Event sponsor Austin Rees, a property management company, joined staff members from the play team at the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton to hand over presents to young patients who will be spending the festive period in hospital.
