PERFORMANCE, finance and workforce are some of the subjects to be discussed at a forthcoming meeting of the board of Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which covers Worthing Hospital.

The board which runs three hospitals in West Sussex, will meet in public on Thursday April 26 in the Boardroom, Washington suite, Worthing Hospital, Lyndhurst Road, Worthing..

Beginning at 10am, the agenda also includes news from the Chief Executive, as well as a presentation from staff involved in various improvement projects in the hospitals.

Chairman Mike Viggers said: “We welcome members of the public attending our meetings and learning more about how their hospitals are managed.”

Meanwhile, members of the public are invited to enjoy a clinical presentation exploring the use of radiology in hospitals to detect cardiac problems.

Consultant radiologist Dr Hatef Mansoubi is giving a talk entitled “Modern day… how do you go about finding the cause of someone’s broken heart using modern technologies?”

The free event takes place on Monday April 23, 6-7pm at the Chichester Medical Education Centre, St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester.

The presentation is part of a programme of public engagement events organised by Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for trust members and the public.

Mr Viggers s to leave at the end of May. He is in charge of the NHS Foundation Trust and its Council of Governors.

He is also retiring from the same position at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust which he has held since April 2017 as part of the Trust’s leadership support for its neighbour organisation.

He has been chairman since 2011, a period in which the trust became only the third in England to be named as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission.
